Timothee is 9 months old

It's only been a couple of weeks since Timothee took to crawling, but it sure does feel like he grew up a ton since then.  Once he got the motions now, Timothee quickly took his crawling out of low-gear and is now speeding all around the house.  I definitely have to keep my eye on the little guy.  Gone are the days where he could happily sit and play with his toys...now his new motivation in life is discovering all of those things that were once so tantalizing out of reach and of course being Mama's constant companion.  On that note, here are a few of the most interesting things going on in Tim's life right now...

1) Moving moving moving.  Once Timothee started crawling, it only took him a few days to figure out how to sit up from lying down...and then a few more days to pull himself up to stand.  His legs are still a little bit wobbly, but he is determined and even manages to take a few steps holding on.

Striking a pose...

Moving with determination...

Happily sitting...for a few seconds...

I'm a big boy too!

All this moving around can only mean one thing though, which brings us to...

2) Getting into trouble.  I probably haven't been as good as I could have been about child-proofing the house since we came to Stockholm (I've done the "big" things) but sometimes I must admit it seems like a losing battle.  Keeping things safe with 1 child was relatively easy...2 and more seems a bit more challenging.  No matter how hard I try to keep little things out of reach, somehow Timothee manages to find a small toy that Jack has secretly stashed away out of sight.  Unfortunately, he's just a typical baby that LOVES to put things in his mouth...he can't help himself.  So the moral of the story...no corner is safe with our little Octopus arms.

What? Plastic bags aren't toys?...

Since we were living in a small apartment in Barcelona when Jack was little, we never got to experience the joys of having stairs around.  It turns out that babies are great at climbing.  The first time I found this out, Timothee was already 3 steps up and still going (and that was in the few seconds I was putting on my shoes).   This is a great skill to have at the playground...Jack and I are having a blast with our new little climber...but we are definitely going to have to look into installing just one more gate.

It seems that the only thing that can really slow Tim down is the promise of a quick cuddle...He can't resist...

The boys...

For the most part, Jack seems to be really loving the new mobile Tim.  They now have crawling races all around the house.  The only real problem is that now that Tim moves and knows more or less what he wants, Jack Jack has to start sharing a bit more with his brother.  Gone are the days where he can just give Tim another "replacement" toy...  They still have a blast together though.  These 2 boys love to laugh.

3) Getting ready for the summer.  So far summer in Stockholm has been cool and pleasant.  This means that we pretty much keep the same clothes, but forget the coats, when going out to play.  Since we have quite a few weeks planned at the beach with family, it was time for summer haircuts for everyone.  It was Tim's first trim and overall he took it quite well.  Doesn't he look cute?

Just a little off the top...

4) Perfecting his pincer grasp.  At 9 months old, it seems that Timothee is pretty finicky and not really into eating much else but milk.  We are usually pretty successful with banana, but other than that there are no guarantees (although occasionally he'll surprise me and decide to like carrots or something else).  The one thing that he does LOVE though are Cheerios.  He'll delicately pick one little O up at a time and put it in his mouth until the whole pile is gone.  I guess this means he'll eventually eat other things when he's ready?  For now though, we just have to be careful he doesn't consume too many little crumbs on the floor!

Well, this might be the last post for a bit since we are officially starting our summer vacation on Sunday.  It will be fun to see how much Timothee changes by the end of summer!!

Have a great summer everyone!
