Happy 3rd Birthday, Jacques!

Over the last couple months, Jack was fortunate enough to celebrate his birthday with his American family, Belgian family, and at his first day back to school...which means that by the time his official birthday came around, he was a just a tiny bit confused.  At first we were thinking about throwing him his first birthday party with some school friends, but given all the things that needed to be done after our long summer break, we settled for a small family celebration with just the 4 of us.  It was probably best since Jack kept asking "Why a party?...It was already my birthday".  Kids definitely don't forget easily...

In the end, we had a nice quiet evening (or not so quiet if you consider the noisemakers) at home.  Jack loves baking, so he had a blast helping to make his cake...and of course licking out the bowl.  He ended up proudly wearing a chocolate mustache the rest of the night.

Big hug for the birthday boy!

The noisemakers were a huge success this year.  Jack had a lot of fun making loud crazy "music".  Unfortunately Timothee wasn't much of a fan and kept breaking out into sporadic tears.

Let the party begin!

How does this thing work?

Mama's pick of 3 simple candles was quickly changed when Jack took the responsibility of cake decorating into his own hands.  Three with 3 to grow on...

For his 3rd birthday, Jacques proudly became a bicycle owner complete with training wheels.  It took a few laps around the block for him to get the hang of pedaling and steering, and then a few more laps for him to understand the joys of breaking...but now our little boy is officially a bike rider!  More pictures to come of Jack on his new set of wheels...

 Bon appétit tout le monde

Happy 3rd birthday, Jacques!!!
